Field crew 2-3 positions available

Seasonal Part Time Positions: Mid March-November, start and end dates flexible. Winter work maybe available to the right candidate.

Hours: 16-40 hours per week, with lighter work load in the early spring and late fall

Must be able to work on Wednesdays.

Compensation: $18-20/hour, DOE

Veggies and flowers from the farm; meat and yarn available 50% off

Accrued Sick Leave (1 hour for every 40 hours worked)

5 unpaid days off during the main season, agreed upon in advance with the farm owner; more flexibility in the spring and fall.

Gear Stipend

Responsibilities may include:

Field Work: amending, planting, seeding, weeding, mowing, crop maintenance, weeding, field clean up, greenhouse work

Harvest/Pack: harvesting our many types of vegetables and dye plants, washing and packing vegetables

Animals: setting up and taking down electro net fencing for our sheep, daily animal chores, participating in shearing days and animal health check days, mucking.

Other: light carpentry jobs, irrigation tasks, making and spreading compost, field mowing and some tractor work.

Other Duties could include: farmers market vending, deliveries, assisting at workshops.

Requirements:

Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to stand, squat, kneel, and walk for extended amount of time.

Lift 50 pounds repeatedly, while being mindful of your body.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required because driving your own vehicle will be an aspect of your job duties in this role.

Joyful, positive attitude, willingness to learn, good communicator and record keeper

Learn to work efficiently, either as a team or by yourself. Farm work is different every day and time sensitive and we know that it takes time to learn. Crew members should be able to ask questions and be open to feedback. 

1+ year of experience working on a vegetable or flower farm

we are unable to provide housing on the farm.
