She enjoys designing with plants and fiber alike, making plant dyeing a wonderful intersection of both passions. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, baking apple pie and consuming eggplant in as many forms possible.

Emily is a former architect turned farmer on Bainbridge Island. In addition to the dye gardens, she works as harvest manager at Butler Green Farms, tends a veggie garden, and cares for the flock of Finnsheep and angora bunnies. When not farming or yarn wrangling, she can be found trail running, canning jam, and knitting all the socks.

Luanne is our flock matriarch. Always in charge and mother to some of our favorite replacement ewes. She likes head scratches, kelp meal, and going out to graze. In 2015, she gave birth to triplets, two ewes and a ram lamb.

Iris is the face of our flock. She is truly the friendliest sheep around and will often head butt other unsuspecting sheep out of the way in order to get some scratches. Her black piebald fleece often gets snapped up by handspinners at fiber events

Her black piebald fleece often gets snapped up by handspinners at fiber events and her babies are often the first to get picked for new homes. This year, her brown ram lamb moved on to become head sire at The Smithshyre in Poulsbo, WA.

Affability is our main lady in the bunny shed. 100% German Angora, she produces about half her body weight in fiber each year, despite being a smaller doe. While she enjoys grazing and hopping around outside, she really loves being curled up on the couch or hopping and hiding behind furniture in our living room. If it were up to her, she would feast only upon lacinato kale, carrot tops, and pineapple.
